Peak
How about a forum for Peak users? We can moderate it ourselves. I think that's a nice gesture, seeing how probably many of us bought Peak 7 on the promise of multitrack capabilities. Or you could bring back Peak, or make Sound Soap 5+ the new Peak (adding Peak functions).

We are pleased to announce a new forum area: http://www.soundness-llc.com/phpbb/

The term covers a range of intertwined professions. Two general branches would be hardware and software engineering. Network engineering might be considered third. Computer engineers may choose among various degrees, thus forming the exact set of skills they wish to perfect.

I am running Peak in High Sierra. Here's the thing. It won't write to the same drive the app is on, under HS's new APFS(?) formatting... My workaround by trial & error as usual with my beloved Peak -- instead of reverting to Sierra - was to make a backup to Carbon Copy Cloner of my High Sierra OS hard drive volume... B) Reformatted the HD as HFS+. C) Backed the CCC clone on to the HD. Hence, I wound up with High Sierra OS on an HFS formatted drive.. If that makes sense. Subsequently, Peak working on High Sierra fine Alternatively if you record to an HFS formatted external HD, you should be okay as well... Off-topic... anybody have any sort of guidelines or 'rule of thumb' thoughts about Peak's various Buffer settings...Playback Prefs, I/O Buffer Prefs, Window Prefs? I have never been able to get a definitive answer to this... Sometimes when doing a bunch of edits on a file, I get into a hang situation where the only option is a force-quit and restart of Peak. If I wasn't saving the edits right up to that point ...I lose whatever work I've done since the last Save. I have my HD selected as my "Scratch Folder" .

I have been using Peak 7 with El Capital successfully for quite a while. Works with all my plugins, Waves, SoundToys , etc. I was having trouble with the izotope plugins but I found a work-around that made them all work. I want to upgrade to OS 10.12 or above as there is some software that doesn't work on my current system. Can anybody assure me about Peak and OS 10.12 compatibility?

I think Yosemite broke Peak 6 for me back in mid 2015. Peak 7 was not of interest to me when it came out and didn't include any warning that Bias would disappear.
Now I'm about to make the High Sierra jump and while Peak is apparently a goner, I'd love to learn otherwise, but with the DSP Quatro cross upgrade for $50 I wouldn't feel ripped off if it came to that. Still, having to learn one new interface to get back where I once was... yeah, no.

I am still a fan of SoundSoap, and I keep alive an old operating system solely for its use. However, I would gladly use it as an add-on to some other program than Peak. Can you recommend one?

Is Peak Pro 7 the same as Peak XT 7 Legacy Edition? I'm a paid user currently running build 7.0.3.24813 on Mac OS 10.12.6 Please advise.

I wish Peak 7 would come back to life. I bought it in 2011 and Bias died in 2012.
Feel a bit ripped off. I do have sound soap 5 and it is great. -

I bought Peak Pro 6 and RepliQ and I'm happy to read other people are interested in Peak. Even though I sometimes have difficulty using the product (some features don't work with newer Mac OS, or maybe I'm just not setting thing correctly ie I cannot get Peak to playback through my MOTU 2408, it sends out some signal that causes the 2408 to go haywire and the only fix is to re-install the Audio Drivers) In fact I'm afraid to upgrade to El Capitan for fear that Peak will not work at all. However, I still use Peak as my final step before releasing a record, and it is the only thing I use if I want to burn audio CD's. BRING BACK PEAK!!!!!!!!!! We need support. It was/is a great product.

Peak ist almost lost...But I use it on yosemite, cause of the good sound quality for example in time stretching.
I think it won't work with El Capitan or Sierra - so please make Sound Soap the new peak. Forget about users having paid for the things you can deliver. (I'm one of them too) But make peak work again - as it is.And please let people post on the forum - you announced it more than 3 times. And no one can post anything - WHY???
